2021 at Pence Media Group

Business challenges in 2021 continued to be influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic that led companies to adapt in the marketing world and beyond. Through ever-changing circumstances, Pence Media Group was able to prove its flexibility and creativity to excel on behalf of its clients. As a result, PMG experienced both client and team growth while expanding its services.

Celebrating Client Wins

As we officially say goodbye to 2021, we want to recognize and celebrate PMG’s amazing clients and the accomplishments we reached together. We delivered our clients countless earned media hits, comprehensive digital transformations, and endless evergreen assets, to name a few.

From winning two PRSA Pinnacle Awards of Honor in the ‘COVID Communications’ and ‘Media Relations’ categories to expanding with new digital advertising services, PMG hit the ground running this year. Here’s a PMG year in review breakdown.

The Year of the ‘Comprehensive Digital Transformation’

Brands have to be agile and intentional to adapt to today’s dynamic business environment – but you don’t have to do it alone. In 2021, Pence Media Group mastered the art of the ‘comprehensive digital transformation‘ (CDT) to take a business’ story-telling capabilities from ordinary to extraordinary. Many of our clients have been a part of this process, bringing their brands to the next level.

The PMG team brings collective experience and expertise to the table that allows us to lead your digital transformation every step of the way. A CDT is a visual and messaging overhaul of a brand’s digital touchpoints so that customers experience the same look and feel across a business’ outreach channels like a website, social media accounts and newsletter. We work to refresh assets like the logo and typography then produce the photography and videography needed to visually support the brand communication.

“Before PMG, we felt like our love, effort, and value to our community were not being communicated. We thought we knew of ways to better market ourselves, but we vastly underestimated the know-how of what to share where and when.”

—Casey Wright, Owner, Wright’s 360° Movement Academy

We worked with Wright’s 360° Movement Academy to bring its vibrant, exciting brand to life from the ground up, just like the 40,000 square foot new facility Wright’s has under construction and ready to launch in 2022. Together, we built a brand statement, values, and taglines to make the business more recognizable and distinct. This overview video outlines these deliverables, one of the many evergreen assets that PMG provided to engage the Wright’s 360° Movement Academy audience.

Another client that received a PMG CDT was DL Lowry, Indy’s #1 luxury salon. PMG created logos, business cards, social media guidelines, and a custom website to match the business’ updated brand. DL Lowry’s new photography and brand visuals allow the salon to share its messaging and value with customers and prospects more effectively. In addition, DL Lowry’s digital presence is now fresh and consistent, matching the luxurious experience of its new building (which PMG also helped to launch through PR and event marketing efforts). PR and New Audiences

With our expansive network, Public Relations has always been one of the many strengths that sets PMG apart from other agencies. The PMG team excels at developing key messaging for brands and delivering them to target audiences through strategic PR campaigns.

In 2021, PMG invested in PR tracking software to showcase earned media efforts and value with hard data metrics. Additionally, it provides access to a deep network of journalists, media outlets and data for the team to strategically leverage for client projects.

“The entire PMG team is great at wading through complex details and finding the nuggets that the media will bit on, because at the end of the day, they understand it is the results that matter most to our clients.”

—Nicole Halper, Director of Creative Strategy, INNOVATIVE

For the past three years PMG has partnered with Indyfluence, an annual intern networking program created to retain talent in Indiana, to deliver an effective PR campaign. This year, Indyfluence was featured on multiple media outlets, including CBS4 and FOX59.

Effective PR outreach can work for a range of business types and goals. While Indyfluence is an established program in the marketplace, PMG also worked to make a strong PR splash for an event that was brand new to the marketplace – Pinners Conference. A notable PR feature for Pinners Conference was on WISH-TV. Additionally, media interviews were coordinated at both TV studios and the Indiana State Fairgrounds where the three-day conference took place.

Seasonality is also a great opportunity to position yourself for a PR win. Our team was pleased to land a feature for Something Splendid in the Forbes Holiday 2021 Gift Guide that curated excellent wine and chocolate pairing gifts. This national PR hit put Something Splendid in front of a new audience during the season of giving and contributed to its record-breaking holiday gift box sales.

Whether old or new, big or small, don’t underestimate the power of strong PR for your business. When done correctly, you can achieve the coverage and audience reach needed for growth.
