Since 2022, PMG has proudly supported Indiana Golf with strategic marketing, advocacy, communication, and PR efforts such as campaign development, event planning and execution, grassroots marketing, and fundraising.

Indiana Golf serves as the central hub for multiple nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing amateur and women’s golf, supporting PGA professionals and golf course superintendents, and developing junior players through education, tournaments, and community initiatives. Beyond its developmental roles, golf in Indiana boasts a significant economic footprint, generating more than $2 billion annually and supporting communities through more than $50 million in charitable contributions each year.

Public Relations

PMG has been instrumental in magnifying and highlighting Indiana Golf’s mission and community impact throughout the region with strategic PR campaigns and advocacy. This effort has garnered nearly $400,000 in media coverage value (AVE), and had an estimated audience reach of nearly 6 million, reflecting the reach and influence of coverage throughout the state. These efforts resulted in numerous distinct digital articles, radio broadcasts and televised segments.

Media Coverage

Indiana Golf made headlines on Inside Indiana Business (IIB), where Executive Director Mike David discussed the organization’s latest Economic Impact Study findings with IIB reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, showing the significant contributions of golf to the state’s economy.

Indiana Golf was also showcased on WISH-TV, spotlighting the forthcoming Pete and Alice Dye Indiana Golf Center at The Fort Golf Resort, which will serve as the new Indiana Golf headquarters. This innovative facility will enhance accessibility and engagement through an Interactive Hall of Fame, administrative offices, and dedicated program spaces.

Event Planning + Execution

PMG has been privileged to collaborate closely with Indiana Golf on several impactful events, from sharing golf’s economic impact with state leaders to kicking off the new headquarters’ capital campaign and breaking ground on the new facility.

Indiana Golf’s Statehouse event took place on April 6th, 2023. This event provided a platform for Indiana Golf to present findings from its 2022 Economic Impact Study, commissioned by the National Golf Foundation, showcasing golf’s more than $2 billion economic footprint in Indiana. PMG orchestrated a seamless event that brought together legislators, business and civic leaders, media representatives, and the public to underscore the sport’s economic and charitable contributions.

On-Site Content Creation

Further demonstrating our partnership, PMG also facilitated the launch of Indiana Golf’s $6.5M capital campaignto establish the Pete and Alice Dye Indiana Golf Center. This campaign kickoff event, held in September 2023 atThe Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis, marked a pivotal moment for Indiana Golf as it unveiled plans for its new flagship facility. Attendees, including esteemed speakers like WISH-TV’s Anthony Calhoun, First Tee Alumni Esther Etherington, Indiana Golf’s Executive Director Mike David, Board President Thad Miller, and Capital Campaign Chair Steve Sterrett, gathered to learn about the future vision and community impact of Indiana Golf.

The 2024 groundbreaking ceremony held on June 5, 2024, for the Pete and Alice Dye Indiana Golf Center further exemplified Indiana Golf’s commitment to enhancing golf experiences statewide. Scheduled for completion next year, this facility promises to centralize resources and support for golfers of all ages while advancing community outreach initiatives like First Tee-Indiana that reaches more than 100,000 students in school-, community-, and course-based programs throughout Indiana. PMG remains dedicated to amplifying Indiana Golf’s message through comprehensive media support and social media engagement, ensuring that their efforts continue to resonate and inspire across Indiana and beyond.

 

Live Event Social Media Management

During events, PMG managed social media accounts live for Indiana Golf, overseeing real-time content creation and engagement. Senior Content Strategist Emily Sullivan played a pivotal role by designing templates, crafting hashtags, and executing live posts. The engagement strategy was created to optimize follower interaction and amplify Indiana Golf’s presence across all platforms.

Social Media Workshop

At PMG, Emily also leads our customized Social Media Training Workshops. She administered an exclusive session with Indiana Golf’s communication team, crafting a tailored workshop to empower them with cutting-edge strategies and practical insights for optimizing their social media profiles effectively.
