Senior PR + Marketing Strategist Leading Brand Growth Through Storytelling
Melissa Mattingly brings nearly two decades of experience across business development, marketing, content creation, and event management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from DePauw University and began her career at Visit Indy, the organization responsible for driving convention and tourism business to Indianapolis.
As Partnership Development Manager, Melissa worked with more than 700 business partners, building relationships across the hospitality, tourism, and corporate communities while leading partner engagement initiatives and planning networking events.
After her time at Visit Indy, Melissa launched her own consulting practice, helping organizations strengthen their digital presence through content creation, storytelling, and digital marketing strategy. Her work focused on helping brands communicate clearly and authentically with their audiences through thoughtful messaging and compelling content.
In 2018, Melissa joined The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where she expanded her expertise in event management. During her tenure, she planned and executed more than 250 events ranging from intimate gatherings of 10 guests to large-scale experiences for up to 2,000 attendees. Her work required meticulous planning, creative problem solving, and the ability to deliver memorable experiences that reflected the museum’s mission and brand.
Today at Pence Media Group, Melissa combines her diverse background in marketing, content creation, and events to help clients elevate their brands and connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. She brings a sharp eye for detail, strategic thinking, and a passion for storytelling to every project. Often working behind the scenes, Melissa ensures that every element, from messaging to execution, aligns seamlessly so clients can shine in the spotlight.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys reading (she has been part of a monthly book club since 2009), taking long walks with friends, listening to crime podcasts, and cheering on her three kids at their sporting events. She and her husband also enjoy tackling DIY home projects together and, of course, she is always ready to plan the next great party.
