In June, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)’s Hoosier Chapter celebrated the best of PR, marketing, and communications excellence in Indiana during their annual Pinnacle Awards. We are thrilled to announce that Pence Media Group won two Awards of Honor, recognizing the outstanding work our team has done to promote our clients and elevate their stories.

He Knows Your Name

AWARD OF HONOR: MEDIA/PRESS RELATIONS

He Knows Your Name is a ministry that strives to ensure that every child receives a name in life and dignity and honor in death. Pence Media Group (PMG) utilized our public relations + event execution skills to plan a press conference and celebration of life for the more than 173 unclaimed individuals who were laid to rest in September 2022. This event took place on the one-year anniversary of the original burial, where He Knows Your Name honored their memory with a brand new grave marker. This new grave marker further emphasizes the organization’s mission to honor each person in death so they can be remembered by future generations.

The partnership between PMG and He Knows Your Name aimed to honor and provide value + worth to unclaimed individuals, celebrating their lives and raising brand awareness for the organization. This awareness was intended to foster future collaborations with Indiana coroners. As part of PMG’s grassroots efforts, our team compiled contact information for each of Indiana’s county coroner’s offices and sent a personalized message inviting them to join the event. Following the event, PMG contacted them again to share a video message from He Knows Your Name founder Linda Znachko, inviting the coroners to a follow-up conversation about future collaborations to again provide dignity to those who are unclaimed

PMG developed comprehensive media strategies for the event, including timelines for media outreach, drafting press releases, and issuing media advisories.  We carefully selected journalists to cover the event, aiming to shape narratives that emphasized celebrating life rather than dwelling on potential shock factors.  Media was secured both ahead of time and on-site during the event.  

PMG also provided He Knows Your Name with media talking points, a run of show, and on-site event support, including photography and social media management. PMG live-streamed the event on Facebook and Instagram, garnering thousands of views by people who may not have been able to attend the event in-person.

The Muck Rack Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE) of media coverage from the anniversary event was more than $42,645, reaching an estimated 4.45 million people through online and digital stories. The PMG team was able to complete this project while staying within a $5,000 budget. $1,000 worth of PMG’s services was also donated as an in-kind contribution.

Litho Press 

AWARD OF HONOR: ELECTRONIC/DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

Litho Press Inc. has been a pioneering force in the printing industry since 1953, known for its expertise in large format, offset, and digital printing, particularly in the realms of retail packaging, litho labels, and top sheets. Their dedication to their customers and their craft is evident in everything they do and their commitment to excellence + innovation made them the perfect candidate for a PMG Comprehensive Digital Transformation, which included developing content for a full, custom website redesign. For this project, PMG joined forces with our trusted partners at HustleFish, leveraging their expertise to bring the vision for this website to life. Staying within the $30,000 website budget, the collaboration was rooted in a shared commitment to improve the Litho Press users’ website experience, incorporate brand storytelling, emphasize their skilled team, and showcase all of Litho’s capabilities – along with their fun personality and an innovative design. 

The journey to the final website design for Litho Press involved several key steps, starting with a brand revitalization. PMG collaborated with original designer Eric Kass to modernize the brand, create additional digital assets, and update brand guidelines. This process began with a Brand Discovery session where PMG, Eric, and Hustlefish met with Litho Press stakeholders to identify their goals, growth areas, brand potential, business foundations, brand affinity, target audience, brand tone/look/feel, experience and expertise, core values, and market positioning.

The Litho Press team emphasized the importance of a website that would generate leads, automate marketing efforts, and showcase their projects through sophisticated web design. Their vibrant, playful, and sassy brand provided the perfect foundation for this development and redesign.

Hustlefish then worked on the complete redesign, improving SEO, incorporating industry keywords, writing content, and creating a unique design that perfectly reflected their services, target audience needs, and brand, while PMG executed a full Production Shoot to create new video + photo assets such as team photos, headshots, a brand video, and individual videos of each sales member to showcase their personalities which could be utilized on the website.

The refreshed website officially launched at the end of 2023 and the most recent web care report has shown a 58% increase in website views. All of our hard work came to fruition not only with these positive web analytics and a very pleased client, but we were also excited to be honored with a prestigious Silver American Advertising Award (ADDY) from the American Advertising Federation in the North Central Indiana competition for this collaborative B2B website project. 

Litho’s award-winning website represents the culmination of this comprehensive project, encapsulating the essence of Litho’s vibrant brand and showcasing our collective efforts in brand storytelling + digital innovation. It is a true testament to the hard work, creativity, and innovative spirit that drives us at PMG.  PMG continues to support Litho Press for all its marketing and communication strategies, including ongoing monthly website maintenance.
